International Mountain Leader

The IML qualification lets the holder lead groups in different mountains all over the world, where the skills of alpinism are not required. IMLs can not provide tours on glaciers and permanent snow, and where the planned use of a rope is necessary. However IMLs can work with groups on high altitude treks as well as lead groups on snow shoes. IML's have to maintain continuing professional development to ensure they are kept up-to-date with the latest developments in mountain leadership. The Region has inherited its rich gastronomy from the different cultures which have passed through the region over the centuries. It knows how to exploit its local products and today its cuisine is described as classical. Which is the ideal number of participants?

Never above from 13 people (Participants). From this maximum number, to an only participant, the group is the key tool. It always must assure the possibility of enjoying the interval of the human relations, drawn from the most prevailed to most sociable.

Which are the best dates to travel?

Every station of the year has changes. In general, Maestrex advises to the periods of spring and autumn (best dates). In these, the comfort of a sunny climate and the length of the day, almost assure the ideal conditions to you. In any case, you will find different options as much if your election falls on an exit to individual like to group. Remember always to consult which is the suitable clothing.

Physically: They are demanding trips and activities?

Physically: Depends on the selected trip and/or the activity. In general is preferable to have a small sporty level or training. This means that any person with a normal life and good health can participate. In most cases only the desire to enjoy is necessary.

Trekking and Hiking:

  • Easy (A)
    • You would normally walk for 2 to 5 hours during the day. Easy treks are short at altitudes (less than 400 m). Experience is not necessary at this level. Anyone who is in good health can manage an easy grade.
  • Moderate (B)
    • A walking day would normally be between 4 to 7 hours long. Altitud gain is between 300 to 600 m. Experience is not necessary at this level but you need to be in good health and reasonably fit.

Cycling:

  • Easy (I)
    • Middle mountain road itineraries, with few travellers and never longer than 45 km per day. Some sections, between 3 and 6 km, may be level 2. No height changes greater than 300 m.
  • Moderate (II)
    • Middle mountain road itineraries, with few travellers and never longer than 60 km per day. Some sections may be level 3. No height changes greater than 400 m.
There's options for families with children?

Most of the participants are aged between 20 and 75 years. Nevertheless some of the proposals can be made with children (families with children), always greater of 13 years and accompanied by an adult. In any case, we can prepare the trip of your family. Consult with us.

Which is the lodging style?

Maestrex bets by the best relation quality/price (Lodging style). The programs include selected establishments following these requirements:

  • Certain comfort but without luxuries: comfort, cleaning, good service.
  • Good situation in the route: beauty, conservation, human factor.
  • Chances to taste the gastronomy of the territory.
  • Rooms of 2/3 seats with option of individual.
What amount of money I can get to spend?

Depends on your level of cost and number of days. Once at the point of contact and dispersion of the group, a rule of about 11 euros/person can be established (money to spend). Attention, because ATM in most of the populations does not exist.

Do I have free time during the trip?

Free time. Of course. In some proposals you even can, if you wish, not taking part in the excursions or visits of the day. In this territory, the traveller will not find noisy streets full of other travellers, only time for stroll, contemplation, for an exciting book or chat it with companions.

Insurance coverage: Assistance and Third Party Liability Insurance

Insurance coverage. Concerning Aragonese Law (Spanish law) for Companies of Outdoor Tourism, Maestrex as company borrower of this type of services includes:

Third Party Liability Insurance that covers enough possible attributable risks to the manager or entity which offers activities of active tourism, with a minimum quantity of covering of six hundred thousand Euros for accident.

Assistance or accident asurance for the benefit of service of outdoor tourism.
